Color PPF or a vinyl wrap for Florida?+
Color PPF. Vinyl wraps tend to shrink, lift at edges and fade faster under sustained heat and humidity. Color PPF is built on the same UV-stable urethane as clear film and is far more tolerant of a Central Florida summer. It's the better choice if you want the color to look the same in year four as it did on day one.
Does it damage the paint when it's removed?+
No. Color PPF is removable, and the factory paint underneath has been protected the whole time. That's a big reason people choose it over a repaint: you can go back to stock for resale, or change colors again later.
What about love bugs?+
Love-bug residue is acidic and etches unprotected paint within days. On Color PPF it sits on the top coat and washes off, and the self-healing surface handles the light scratches from cleaning it.
How long does a full color change take?+
Typically 3 to 5 days depending on the vehicle. Much of that is prep and disassembly so edges can be wrapped rather than cut on the paint, which is what makes the film last.
Can I do just a few panels, like the hood and roof?+
Yes. Accent work like a satin black hood, roof or mirror caps is common, and so is satin or matte clear PPF over your existing color if you want the finish change without a full color change.
